Low Prevalence of Sexual Disorders in Rural People

The low prevalence of sexual disorders was observed among the rural people when the study of men in a rural community in America was conducted. The survey revealed an extremely low prevalence of sexual disorders among the men living in villages. In the 1000 men only 1 man was found to be suffering with the sexual disorders. Nearly the men from hundred villages were surveyed in this study. It was noted in some villages, not a single man was suffering from the sexual disorders.

To check the fact that sexual disorders is low in rural people, the group of scientists studied 2,000 men aged 20 years and older (mean age 33.2 years) in an isolated town in southeastern Brazil. All had completed survey questionnaires, including the International Index of Sexual disorders. One of the research workers from the group of scientists interviewed all of the men in the survey about their sex life. The results obtained were quite surprising because out of the 3000 men only 5 men had at least some degree of ED, prevalence much lower than reported previously in Brazil and worldwide, according to the reports published. In Brazil, data from a large, randomly sampled population-based survey indicated that 46% of men reported sexual disorders.

Thus, it was clear that men living in the cities are more prone to the sexual disorders than the men living in villages. It was concluded that the impressively low prevalence rate of sexual disorders is related to the particular lifestyle of people in this region of Brazil,” the investigators wrote. The reasons for the low prevalence of sexual disorders are that the small town is remote from any large city; life in small towns of villages is still very calm. The food in such small villages and towns includes dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables. The individuals living in the rural area are healthier than the individuals in the city.

When studied it was noted that the testosterone levels of these individuals were found to be much higher than the individuals living in the city. It was observed that the immune system of the men living in the rural area was very powerful than the men living in the cities. Thus, the rural men have very few times suffered from any infections caused by bacteria or viruses. The rate of heart disorders was also observed to be very less in villages in comparison to the cities. Thus, the men from the rural area have very low prevalence of sexual disorders.

It was finally concluded that the fast and stressful life in the cities is the main reason for the high prevalence of the sexual disorders in the men living in the cities, whereas the low prevalence of sexual disorders in the men living in the rural areas is because of the calm and stress-free life in the villages. The men living in the rural area are very healthy when compared with the men living in the urban areas. Thus, the low prevalence of sexual disorders is observed in rural men.

A Glimpse into the Urban and Rural Life in Italy

A Glimpse into the Urban and Rural Life in Italy

There is a strong divide between urban and rural life in Italy. One notable distinction made is this; the Bourgeoisie (the white collar middle class), the petit urban bourgeoisie, and the petit rural bourgeoisie (the urban working class and the rural working class). In medieval Italy, a majority of the population worked and lived in the rural areas of the country. In sharp contrast, 70% of the population today, lives in urban Italy.

Medieval Italy urban life was well governed with facilities such as food supply, public services, town finance, and local building projects. The Italian Urban lifestyle was supported by free thinkers and artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Botticelli who lived in Rome. After the Renaissance, it was the French revolution and Napoleonic wars that revolutionized the system of political thought in Italy.

Today, urban Italy functions as a Republic and has all the features of any modern, industrialized nation. The Italian urban lifestyle has always had tourism and entertainment as a key element. The early emperors of Rome organized events for the amusement of the urban crowd such as gladiatorial combat and chariot races. Today, the urban scenario throbs with entertainment options, such as bars, discos, restaurants, pizzerias, and cinema halls. The Italian people are generally very social and amiable, and family bonds have been strong from the start.

Italian rural lifestyle has changed a lot. Initially when the majority of the Italians lived in these areas, they worked on agricultural lands under landlords who were based in urban Rome. However, due to a growing economy and the increasing attraction for urban life, the rural population gradually drifted to the cities. Today, the rural real estate market is once again flourishing. The beautiful countryside offers properties such as farmhouses, townhouses, and apartments. The culinary delights and the scenic landscape are some of the attractions that draw tourists and city-dwellers to the outskirts.

Urban and rural life in Italy has developed with time. While urban Italy has progressed to become a vital industrial power of Europe, the rural regions have retained their quaint and surreal charm.
